What a fine group of students we had this year. They came from Indiana, Georgia, West Virginia, Illinois, Mississippi and Missouri. Five of them did the four-weeks saddle making school and, of course, took their saddles home with them. One of our students took the one-week “Making Saddlebags” course because he liked to learn how to do new things and leatherwork was on his list. One of these students is an instructor at an equestrian college. He teaches leatherwork among other things and added to his skills with the saddle making course. The other four students went home and started up their own small businesses. We see pictures of their work and are pleased with their accomplishments. They sometimes call for advice or just to let us know how they are doing. We wish all six students success in their business endeavors and enjoyment in a newly learned craft. Saddle making is not going to be a dying art!
