Right out of the B-grade western movies and the days of black and white TV is my personal saddle. It is built on a 16" tree with a 4" cantle, Buster Welch fork, a Wade horn and full double D rigging. This saddle is covered in black Wickett & Craig leather fully basket-weave tooled with border trim. Just so no one will miss it, I added sterling silver lacing around the front gullet and over the 4" cantle. This saddle is pretty enough to go in any parade and yet capable of doing a day's work anywhere.
See the larger image of this western saddle.
Some of the other features are sterling silver conchos and custom corner plates. These corner plates are overlaid jeweler's bronze playing cards. The four aces are a trademark that I put on all the equipment that I build for my personal use. (What would you like your trademark to be?) A little touch of California Spanish influence is added by the long tapadero stirrup covers over the deep roper stirrups. This saddle has a matching victory chest strap, silver mounted head stall with custom made silver mounted bit, saddle bags fully silver mounted, canteen with silver accents and a rifle boot with the "Four Aces" tooled on the side.
Special Note: This rifle boot was made for a 26" barrel, 1873 Winchester. However, it will fit 3030's plus several other lever-action rifles.
